American Pie 2Movie:  8/10

This is one of the few sequels that are better than the original. At least in my eyes at this moment in time, American Pie 2 is better than the original. Sure, it resorts to some of the same stuff as the first, but I think some of the jokes are more hilarious for some reason. Maybe because there is more Stiffler (Seann William Scott) and I love that guy. Anyway, if you haven't seen the flick, I suggest you do. It starts off with the whole gang from the first one coming back from college. The guys find something missing when they go back to Stiffler's for a party and it gets busted by the cops, so they decide to all team up and rent a beach house for the summer. Oz (Chris Klein) is still with Heather (Mena Suvari), who is spending the summer abroad; Jim (Jason Biggs) is waiting for Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth) to come see him so he can try and make up for his lack of love seen in the first film (he recruits the band geek, Michelle (Allyson Hannigan) for some lessons); Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicolas) and Vicky (Tara Reid) are a little uncomfortable being friends; Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) is waiting on Stiffler's mom; and Stiffler is tailing some lesbians. The flick, like I said, still resorts to the same dick and fart jokes. However, for some reason I found this one to be funnier than the original. Maybe it's just me, but a lot of friends felt the same way. You see it and decide. It's not a great film, but it is funny.

Video:  8/10

This one only comes with either widescreen or full screen. I bought the widescreen copy and it looks decent. Very solid.

Audio:  8/10

5.1 and DTS, good stuff.

Extras:  7/10

Not as stacked as the first, but a decent assortment. We have a making of American Pie 2 (regular, nothing great), outtakes and deleted scenes, a Jason Biggs warning (amusing), screen tests from the first flick, behind the scenes footage, top ten favorite scenes, a classic quotes feature (nice), a funny commentary with the directors and stars, a separate commentary by Eddie Kaye Thomas, and some little goodies. Not bad stuff, but nothing super either.

Overall:  8/10

Worth buying for the flick and the extras. It's fairly cheap too, I got it for like 15 bucks!
